LAMAAA Mission

To develop members and assist them acquire the necessary skills to promote themselves towards better positions and responsibilities.

To promote and perpetuate the prestige and professional status of municipal accountants and auditors.

To assist each other and develop professional camaraderie, team spirit and cooperation among its members.

To develop and improve educational techniques in management, commercial, proprietary, governmental accounting and auditing.

LAMAAA Benefits

LAMAAA offers one-hour monthly training session equivalent to one hour of continuing professional education (CPE) credit. The annual conference around May of each year offers eight hours of educational updates by famous speakers. At the monthly training sessions, you will hear the captains of the industry or the Chief Accountants speak. This is a way to stay abreast of changes in the accounting/auditing field. LAMAAA is a great place to network with people in our field. LAMAAA provides newsletters and websites with invaluable information on up-to-date issues and developments in our specific field of interest. So join LAMAAA and enjoy the new experience and discover a new world.

1. Linda Granados called the meeting to order at 11:40 AM.
2. Introductions by the Board Members: Claire Bartels, Ted Fernandez.
3. Treasurer’s Report: Per Lilia Liclican, there have been only 137members who have paid out of 300 members.
A. Bank Statement balance as of September 30, 2009 is $ 7,112.03
B. Bank Statement balance as of October 31, 2009 is $ 6,375.76.
a. Website Design: Jose De Jesus had PC problems. It’s good the LAMAAA files were stored on the newly purchased external drive. He’s using his MAC to install the Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop application in developing the site. Will work on finalizing website during the Thanksgiving weekend.
b. Marketing: lanyard/ID pin with L AMAAA logo. Quote came at $1 per lanyard.
c. Membership blitzkrieg (bombardment) drive: President emailed the coordinators from LAWA, CTR, DOT. Again it was suggested to continue collecting the annual dues from departments with large numbers of members such as: CTR – 76, PW – 57, AIR – 38, RAP – 31, etc.
d. The Christmas Party Raffle prizes worth $1,000 are as follows: Laptop, digital camera, & a 22” monitor.
e. The fill-in Certificates of Appreciation were approved for printing at the slightly lower negotiated price of $900.00 for 1,0000 pieces.
f. Conduct more research on procedures to be followed to increase the annual dues and implement automatic withdrawal from paycheck.
g. 1st Training Seminar will be held on Nov. 17, 2009 titled, “Economic Impact of your Health Benefits”.
h. 2nd Training will be held during Christmas Party on December 10, 2009. We will invite Budget and Finance Committee member.
i. Start preparation for Memorabilla
